Here you will find a brief history of some of our various project examples for Solar PV, Solar Thermal hot water and Solar Pool Heating along with a brief description and some on-site pictures.

For some of our projects, live system data is available! This means you can track the output and performance of these systems in real time.

We will also be showcasing some new renewable technologies coming soon!


Northwestern Secondary School, Stratford, Ontario with Dr. David Suzuki - 4.560KW Ac

We were pleased to be chosen as the preferred supplier for Northwestern Secondary Schools solar project! This project was opened by Dr. David Suzuki who was very supportive of the solar initiative taken on by the students and the school.

Solar One was responsible for layout and array design, and involved the students in the installation of the solar modules.

Each pole mount consists of 12 modules, one tracking and one stationary.

Solar Array #1 – Tracking pole mounted array with 235-watt solar modules. Micro inverter system complete with M.P.P.T (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and per-module system monitoring. 2.280 KW Ac

Solar Array #2 – Fixed pole-mounted array with six Canadian solar (225w) and six Day4 (225W) energy modules with Guardian Technology. This will be used as another performance comparison. Micro inverter system complete with M.P.P.T (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and per-module system monitoring. 2.280 KW Ac

Paul & Sue M. Waterloo, Ontario

This complete solar thermal installation included three large 30 evacuated tube collectors for a total of 90 evacuated tubes, and one new Latento XXL 500 Liter Solar storage unit. Collectors are used to heat domestic hot water for a family of four people & supplement heating for in-ground swimming pool during the summer months. The system also will act as a pre-heat for the hot water boiler system and radiant in-floor heating.

Alan & Carole R. Stratford, Ontario  9.8 Kw Ac.

This system includes Solar PV Micro Fit Dual Technology System. Including 52 solar modules at 235 watts each. One array of 24 modules mounted on a tracking system. Another array of solar modules mounted on a fixed 28 module system. Micro inverter system complete with M.P.P.T (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and per-module system monitoring.

Richard & Mary N. Gads Hill, Ontario 10 KW Ac

Solar PV Micro Fit Ground Mounted System. Includes 48 solar modules at 235 watts each. Two 5KW SMA Sunny Boy string inverters were installed. Sunny beam non-Internet monitoring system allows the customer to monitor and track system performance in their home. Modules fixed at a tilt angle of 30 degrees.


Children’s Residence

Complete solar thermal hot water installation. This system uses 180 evacuated tubes to heat the 360 gallons of solar storage water. Because the students live at this facility year round, the system was designed by us to provide them with solar domestic hot water for laundry, showering and other uses. As well as noticeable savings this system contributes to a reduction in green house gas emissions and a positive impact on the environment!


Murray & Heather S. Stratford, Ontario 9.8 KW Ac

Solar PV Micro Fit Ground. This system uses two banks of 26 modules for a total of 52 modules at 235 watts each. We designed the system to use Enphase D-380 micro inverters. The hydro power this system produces will be sold back to the grid at a price of 80.2 cents per KW/H. Micro inverter system complete with M.P.P.T (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and per-module system monitoring.
